The summer is flying by
with unmeasurable speed.
School is just around the corner
and I am hoping that my kids feel
as though we took advantage of the all
the moments that we were able to spend together.
I am deep in the heart
of my maintenance phase of weight loss.
It is going well.
Still at 150 lbs.
I’ve been thinking a lot about
how I got to where I am.
As I have mentioned before,
I am at a weight I have never been
in my adult or even teenage life!
But how did I get here.
I have tried to do this
so many times before.
I have tried so many diets,
had momentary success, lost some weight,
than I couldn’t continue.
I lost my motivation my focus.
I was initially successful.
And then I wasn’t.
The diet didn’t change.
And yet I was no longer losing weight.
Every time it was something with me
that had changed.
My mindset had changed.
I had given up, lost my confidence
or my vision of where I was going.
When I started dieting, yet again,
my thinking was completely
different than any other time before!
without a doubt,
that I would be successful.
Daily, I had to remind myself
of my convictions that I was going to get
to my goal!
Every decision was made with
my goal in mind.
I was going to do this!
Too many times in life
we are afraid to commit to something
because we are afraid that we will fail.
So what do we say!
I’ll try to lose weight!
I’ll try to learn a hobby!
I’ll try to climb that mountain!
We have to be different.
No more I’ll try
and more I will.
It sounds so cliché,
but I am serious!

There is truth in this!
push those doubts aside.

Do or do not.
There is no try!
