Enduring to the End!!

Right now
I am having to 
Endure to the End!

But maybe it is not endure to the end…
it is endure forever…
or maybe enjoy forever!

I am now 2 1/2 months into my weight loss journey!
Down 25.8 lbs!
tomorrow is weigh in day :)!

I am getting to the point where people are noticing 
my weight loss 
and asking how I am doing it!

counting calories

boring right?
actually I love it!
I am sticking with it
which is something I struggle with!

truly that is over simplifying things.
I try to always eat 
a lean protein with a complex carb.
But i am not always perfect
and so I count my calories to help balance me out.

I know this may not be the best way for everyone
to lose weight,
but it is currently working for me!

But I am truly learning the meaning of 

It is exciting when you start a new health plan
or start a new resolution!
At least I feel so focused 
so many things focus around my new goal!

For me to reach my goal weight,
and I have a solid 50 lbs to lose,
I can’t give up now!
I must continue on!

A friend of mine was taking about enduring to the end
but he reminded me that it isn’t about just
getting to the end…
it is about enjoying the journey!

You have to find an exercise that is right for you. 
I do not love to run
or go to the gym
and that is ok!
I love Jazzercise!
It is my time to focus on me with loud trendy music!
Plus my sis, my mom, and lots of friends are there!
If you don’t love the exercise you are 
doing you will not be able to 
endure to the end.

I am trying to learn to cook
different types of proteins 
and healthy meals. 
I often get in a rut
of making the same few healthy meals
and I get tired of that…
plus my family gets tired of that.

With the weather getting warmer
it is nice to get outside.
This helps motivate me!
Bathing suit season is on its way!
Don’t quit now!

I loved this post! I have been struggling with endurance in several areas of my life lately – things get so overwhelming sometimes and I kind of shut down!

I have been reading the book "The Light Between the Oceans" (that your Mom recommended!) – and a part of it really helped me out. This man is on an island to be in charge of a lighthouse … all alone. His first day there he starts to feel dizzy because of how vast and overwhelming and lonely it all is – but then focuses on a rusty hinge on the door of the lighthouse tower – and tells himself, "I can do that. I can fix that hinge." He finds the little things he can do one by one to fill his days and keep him going.

I really liked that. I have been trying to focus on just one little thing at a time that I feel like I CAN do throughout the day. Little choices like – I can put away that basket of clothes right now, or – I can just look over the notes of that new jazz song right now, or – I can just eat 2 cookies right now and put the rest away. 😉

I have a great therapist friend (chuckle) that often reminds me of an old Chinese proverb: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." He points out that all of those "little focuses" I choose throughout the day add up and help me reach my goals and better myself – gets me closer to that one thousand mile journey that seems so far away and overwhelming.

Anyway – whew! I didn't realize I was so long winded about this. Continuing to take those steps – finding one thing to focus on – little by little (and then, before I know it, they are adding up!) – that's how I work through those times when enduring to the end feels like it's killing me.
