I am a yoyo dieter!!
I know this about myself!
It is also something I really wanted to change about myself!
January came around this year,
and again I was setting my new years resolution to
LOSE WEIGHT!!
AGAIN!!!
I have probably set that goal
EVERY JANUARY
since I can remember!
This year has been different!
I am 59 days into my new years resolution and
still going strong!
Why the change?
Here is my story!
Last year my weight was all over the place.
I got my tonsils out and lost 20 lbs!
Lovely experience :)!
As soon as I started eating again,
I put that weight right back on
and then added 15 more pounds.
I wanted to eat whatever I wanted.
I ate to make me feel good.
I ate to procrastinate.
I ate cause I was mad.
I ate cause I was bored.
I ate …
A few amazing women that I work with
were getting bariatric surgery
out of necessity for their health.
They were losing weight…
and fast.
Maybe I should do that?
I looked into it. I needed to gain 10 more lbs
to qualify for gastric surgery!
I was truly contemplating purposely putting on more weight
so that I could have the surgery!
I talked with my wonderful friends
and learned
I would need to come up with $7000
as my portion of the surgery
and
I would have to attempt to lose weight
with the assist of a doctor
and prove that I struggled to lose weight!
First, i didn’t have $7000.
Second, I could buy a lot of things my family needed
with that $7000.
So…
I decided to try one last time,
on my own,
to lose weight.
I know how…I just need to put it into practice.
I am currently 59 days and -20.9 lbs
into this journey!
I hope to be able to share
the ups and downs,
the things I am learning,
and gain strength
through sharing my story!
Currently I am continuing to eat a Favao type diet
with good protein and carbs
and lots of fruit and veggies
use my fitness pal to track my calories
and loving myself some Jazzercise for exercise!!
